Men’s soccer shuts out Maranatha 5-0
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team defeated Maranatha Baptist University 5-0 on Tuesday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium, improving their record to 2-1-3.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team defeated Maranatha Baptist University 5-0 on Tuesday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium, improving their record to 2-1-3.
Four different Pioneers scored goals in the first half, the first one by freshman Logan Rinderknecht on a pass from senior Caleb Sedlacek.
After 15 minutes had passed in the first half, freshman Brad Strobel scored another goal for the Pioneers off a cross pass from sophomore Lucas Aplin to give them the 2-0 lead over the Sabercats.
The third goal of the game came from freshman Caleb Rindfleisch, who scored off the rebound of the save from the Sabercats goalkeeper to make it 3-0 with 15 minutes left in the first half.
Rindfleisch also assisted in the fourth goal of the game, throwing the ball from the top of the 18-yard line to the center of the field to junior Alex Bach who put the ball in the net for the Pioneers to put them up 4-0.
Within the first two minutes of the second half, Bach recorded another goal for the Pioneers from a cross pass inside the 6-yard line from Strobel, giving the Pioneers a 5-0 lead.
The Pioneers return to action on Thursday, Sept. 17 at Edgewood College in Madison, Wis. at 7 p.m.
