PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- A goal by Mbodje Sarr in the first minute of the game proved to be enough for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team to defeat visiting Coe College 1-0 on Tuesday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers took control of the game right from the start, as Andrew Muchowski found Sarr in the middle of the box and Sarr put the ball in the back of the net from eight yards out, 49 seconds into the game.
UW-Platteville continued to hold position for most of the game, and out shot the Kohawks 25-3, including a 10-0 second half advantage. The Pioneers also posted an 8-1 corner kick advantage.
UW-Platteville had a number of good looks for an insurance goal with one of the best chance coming right before halftime when Nick Peters had header that just over the cross bar.
The Pioneers return to the pitch at UW-Oshkosh on Sunday at 1 p.m.
