PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team was unable to capitalize on 10 corner kick attempts, falling to MSOE, 3-1, on Tuesday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers tallied seven corner kicks in the first half, but couldn't put one away. The Raiders got on the board in the 15th-minute and then went up 2-0 five minutes later when Silas Linares headed in Logan Andryk's corner.
In the 48th-minute, the Pioneers' Jake Olk scored off a rebounded header by William Pretto from a corner kick, putting the Pioneers within a goal, 2-1.
Mercelo Alves scored his second goal of the game in the 71st-minute and put the game out of reach for the Pioneers, 3-1.
UW-Platteville has a quick turn around, hosting 19th-ranked Luther on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
