Men's Soccer comeback falls short to No. 10 Wheaton
UW-Platteville men’s soccer team comeback fell short to 10th-ranked Wheaton on Wednesday, as the Pioneers were setback by the Thunder 4-2 at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team comeback fell short to 10th-ranked Wheaton on Wednesday, as the Pioneers were setback by the Thunder 4-2 at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
Wheaton scored its first goal in the sixth-minute, and then right before half the Thunder managed to get a ball of the Pioneer defense and Jordan Golz chipped the loose ball over goalkeeper Scott Sibik's head, taking a 2-0 lead into the half.
Wheaton went up 3-0 on a header by Stephen Golz off a corner kick in the 48th-minute.
UW-Platteville's Sadek Sanon managed to get some room on a breakaway, forcing the Thunder goalkeeper to come out of the goal, and Sanon found a wide open Andrew Muchowski, who scored his first goal of the season and cut the Pioneer deficit 3-1 in the 50th-minute.
The Pioneers' offense became even more aggressive and Mbodje Sarr's pressure caused the Wheaton goalkeeper to miss play a ball out of the box and Sarr put the UW-Platteville down one, 3-2, with just over five and half minutes left to play.
With the Pioneers all moving up to try to find the equalizer, the Thunder managed to score an insurance goal in the final minute to put the UW-Platteville away.
The Pioneers return to the pitch on Tuesday to host MSOE at 7 p.m.
