PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- A pair of goals by senior Mbodje Sarr led the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team past Lakeland College, 3-0, on Monday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
After a scoreless first half where the Pioneers posted 11 shots, Sarr finally got UW-Platteville on the board when he headed in a great cross from Alex Bach in the 65th-minute.
Freshman Jake Olk scored his first collegiate goal on a drop pass from Jon Stopple, giving the Pioneers a comfy 2-0 lead in the 81st-minute.
Just over a minute later, Sarr added one more goal for good measure, on a free kick cross that was deflected around until he got a head on it into the back of the net.
UW-Platteville's defense has now held its opponents scoreless for the last 200 minutes.
The Pioneers will travel to Dubuque on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
