Men's Soccer drops WIAC opener at UW-Superior

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team dropped its Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opener, 1-0, at UW-Superior on Saturday.

The Yellowjackets outshot the Pioneers 7-5 in the first-half as a scoreless game went into halftime.

UWS's Brian Grand scored the only goal of the game at the 75:07 mark. The Pioneers had four corner kick opportunities in the second-half but couldn't capitalize or score the equalizer.

Senior goalkeeper Ian Christensen made six saves and Andrew Muchowski and Seth Surendonk led the offense with two shots apiece.

The Pioneers will look to rebound on Sunday when they travel to Finlandia for another conference match-up at 1 p.m.
