Pioneers beats McPherson, 70-56

UW-Platteville won its first game in the Pioneer Ford/Frito Lay Thanksgiving Classic over NAIA, McPherson College 70-56 on Saturday night on Bo Ryan Court.

McPherson's only lead came with three minutes into the game 3-2. The Pioneers took a 40-31 lead into halftime. UW-Platteville kept its lead to double figures for most of the second half with its largest lead of 17 points with 6:34 left in the game.

The Pioneers were once again led by seniors Joe Allen and Eric Wall with a double-double apiece. Joe Allen recorded a game-high 18 points with ten rebounds while Wall grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and 17 points. Nick Allen and Chas Cross also contributed 15 points and 14 points respectively.

McPherson's Aaron Frazier put up a team-high 18 points while teammate Kasey Miller scored 15 points all coming from beyond the arc.

In Saturday's first game, St. Olaf. defeated Loras 79-65. On Sunday, McPherson plays St. Olaf at 1 p.m., and the Pioneers meet Loras. at 3 p.m.
