Charlie Lohoff scored a career-high 28 points, and Curt Hanson added 20 as UW-Platteville beat UW-Stout 77-68 in front of 1,123 fans on Bo Ryan Court Saturday.

The Pioneers, who led for all but four minutes of the first half, improved to 13-4 overall and 7-2 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Blue Devils fell to 4-14, 1-8.

With the Blue Devils collapsing on center Jeff Skemp after his 30-point outburst Wednesday in a win at UW-Whitewater, the Pioneer perimeter players found themselves open for cuts to the basket or three-point shots.

UWP led 40-22 at the the half and by double digits throughout the second half until the final 52 seconds.

Lohoff made 10-12 from the floor to surpass his previous best of 25 points set at Richard Stockton on Dec. 29, 2006. Hanson knocked down 6-8 from the field. Both players were 3-5 from beyond the three-point arc and 5-6 from the line.

Mike Shaw added 10 points, and Nick Allen scored eight. Skemp attempted just three shots but had a game-high 10 rebounds, two assists and a pair of blocks.

Eric Hostetter made 8-9 from the field and led the Blue Devils with 20 points, while Jerrel Enerson-Matthews scored 15. Miles Webb, the WIAC's leading scorer at 19.2 points per game, was held to 4-13 shooting and eight points.

The Pioneers are in a three-way tie for first place with UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh. They play host to the Titans Wednesday at 7 p.m.
