Pioneers rout Superior

UW-Platteville recorded its largest road victory since 1998, as the Pioneers defeated UW-Superior 67-37 Saturday.

UWP ran up a 32-15 halftime lead and rolled to its largest win as a visiting team since then-Coach Bo Ryan's club beat UW-Stout 90-53 on Jan. 31, 1998.

Jeff Skemp led the Pioneers with 17 points, LeVon Crawford added 13 and freshman Kyle Tetschlag, in his first collegiate start, scored 11. Skemp added eight rebounds, while both Crawford and Tetschlag tallied four assists and three steals.

The Pioneers improved to 7-6 overall and 2-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference after the biggest win in Coach Paul Combs' three seasons.

Tyler Hildebrandt paced the Yellowjackets (3-9, 0-6) with 14 points, while Leonard Cobb had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

UWP plays host to UW-Whitewater in a key WIAC matchup Wednesday at 7 p.m.
