Pioneers rout UW-Superior

UW-Platteville held visiting UW-Superior to nine baskets through the first 32 minutes of the game and went on to rout the Yellowjackets 77-42 Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers rolled to a 37-17 halftime lead and never trailed by less than 20 points the entire second half.
UWP shot 56 percent from the floor while holding Superior to 13-44, 29.5 percent. The Pioneers improved to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Yellowjackets, who defeated ninth-ranked Rochester (N.Y.) Sunday, fell to 5-2, 0-2.
Six-foot-10 freshman Jeff Skemp led the Pioneers with 14 points and seven rebounds, making 5-6 from the field. Brad Reitzner added 13 points, while Brandon Temperly and Mark Gossens each had 10.
Laron Reed was the only Yellowjacket in double figures with 16 points.
