A sizzling Carleton shooting performance led to UW-Platteville's first loss of the year, 84-71 in the Colorado College tournament Friday.
The Knights made 18 of 29 shots in the first half to jump out to a 46-30 lead. The Pioneers led 24-23 with eight minutes to go, but Carleton ended the period on a 23-6 run.
Robert Duax led the Pioneers (3-1) with 14 points, while Carter Voelker and Colin Connelly each scored 10. Matthew Stritzel had 22 points and Kevin Grow 19 for the Knights (2-0), who finished at 57 percent from the field.
Coach Jeff Gard's club concludes the tournament by playing Millikin Saturday afternoon.
