Cross, Gerber and Stocki named All-WIAC
UW-Platteville’s Chas Cross, Eric “Skip” Gerber and Jim Stocki were named to the 2013-14 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men's Basketball Team, the league office announced on Wednesday.
MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Chas Cross, Eric "Skip" Gerber and Jim Stocki were named to the 2013-14 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men's Basketball Team, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Cross was selected first team all-conference as well as all-defensive team. The senior from Winnebago, Ill., led the WIAC in field goal percentage, shooting 62.8 percent and ranked second in rebounds with 7.2 boards per game and blocked shots with 58. Cross led the team in scoring and ranked eighth in the WIAC and totaled 30 steal, ranking 12th in the league.
Gerber and Stocki were honorable mention selections and Gerber was also named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team for his display of exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.
Gerber led the WIAC with 3.96 assists per contest and finished third in the league with a 1.84 assist/turnover ratio. The senior from Stoughton, Wis. averaged 11.2 points per game and shot 50.5 percent from the field.
Stocki was second on the team and 13th in the WIAC with 12.4 points per contest. The Boilingbrook, Ill., native was one of the league's top three-point shooters as he ranked third with a 43.7 three-point percentage and 59 made three-pointers.
