Cross garners WIAC Player of the Week honors

MADISON, Wis. – Chas Cross was named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
The senior from Winnebago, Ill., averaged 16 points, 7.5 rebounds and two blocks in the Pioneers' two victories, last week. He shot an efficient 13-of-15 (86.7%) for the week. On Feb. 19 against UW-Eau Claire, he surpassed former All-American Jeff Skemp as the Pioneers' all-time career blocked shots leader, amassing 131 blocks. Cross recorded 11 points, five rebounds and three blocks against the Blugolds. He led all scorers on Feb. 22 against UW-River Falls with 21 points and added 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season.
Cross and the Pioneers welcome UW-Stout on Wednesday for the first-round of the WIAC Tournament.
