PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Eleven members of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team received All-WIAC recognition the league announced on Thursday afternoon, highlighted by senior defensive lineman Justin Blazek, who was named Kwik Trip Defensive Player of the Year as well as First Team All-Defense. Senior linebacker Sam Smith joined Blazek on the defensive First Team, while nine others earned spots on the Second and Honorable Mention teams.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – For the first time since 2004, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team defeated UW-Whitewater and reclaimed the Miner’s Axe. The 17-13 victory against the No. 3 nationally ranked Warhawks (5-2, 3-1) in the 27th installment of the George Chryst Memorial Bowl completes back-to-back upsets against Top-25 WIAC opponents at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The No. 24 ranked University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team fell 41-0 Saturday to No. 6 ranked Hardin-Simmons University at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

Platteville, Wis.- For the first time in 23 years, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s football program will have a new coach in charge. Ryan Munz was named the 16th head football coach in Pioneer history on Feb. 7, following Mike Emendorfer’s retirement. Munz is no stranger to the Pioneer football program and the fans. Munz spent the previous 15 seasons as the Pioneers’ offensive coordinator and has been with the Pioneers for 20 years as a student-athlete and coach.
