Football hosts UW-River Falls on Homecoming
The 17th-ranked UW-Platteville football team (3-1, 1-0 WIAC) hosts UW-River Falls (1-3, 0-1) for the Pioneers' annual Homecoming game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The 17th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team (3-1, 1-0 WIAC) hosts UW-River Falls (1-3, 0-1) for the Pioneers' annual Homecoming game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
• A key matchup for UW-Platteville could be its passing offense, which ranks third in the WIAC at 267.5 yards a game, against UW-River Falls' passing defense, which surrenders 231.5 yards per game in the air.
• The Pioneers are second in the WIAC with a plus-seven turnover margin and will look to capitalize the Falcons' miscues, who are last in the league with a minus-eight turnover margin.
HOMECOMING SUCCESS
Since Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium opened in 1972, the Pioneers are 25-17 in their annual Homecoming game, and 3-3 versus UW-River Falls. UW-Platteville's all-time Homecoming record is 44-41-3 since 1924. Head Coach Mike Emendorfer holds an 8-7 record in his 15 seasons with the Pioneers.
SERIES HISTORY
UW-Platteville hasn't had a great amount of success against the Falcons and are a 23-32-2 all-time, but has won the last four meetings. The Pioneers have won the last four meetings in Platteville, while the Falcons hold a 11-10 advantage in Pioneer Stadium.

The Pioneers have won nine of their last 10 home games and have a eight-game home winning streak dating back to 2012. The last time UW-Platteville lost in the friendly confines of Pioneer Stadium was to UW-Whitewater, 27-26, on Sept. 29, 2012. The Pioneer offense is averaging 36.2 points per game and the defense is holding teams to an average of 21.0 points over the last two years.
