Despite soggy conditions, UW-Platteville banged out 32 runs to sweep a pair of slugfests over UW-Stout at Kendall Murray Field Saturday. The Pioneers won the opener 11-10 in 11 innings then used a 15-run fifth to win the nightcap 21-10.

Steve Bomkamp singled home Joe Nartowicz with the winning run in the opener on Senior Day for the Pioneers. Nartowicz reached on an error, stole second, and advanced to third on Jason Jacobson's single.

Wil Osmanski earned the win in relief, working out of a bases-loaded jam in the top of the 11th.

The Pioneers surged to an early 5-1 lead, thanks to Aaron Hopson's home and Wade Axelson's two-run triple. The Blue Devils took a 6-5 lead in the top of the fifth, scoring five times on three hits.

Jason Jacobson smashed a three-run home run, and Axelson knocked a solo HR, giving UWP a 9-5 lead in the bottom of the fifth. In the sixth, UW-Stout's Jake Duske hit a two-run home run, Jesse Brockman had an RBI triple, and Ryan Gilbertson grounded out to score Brockman with the go-ahead at 10-9.
