In game one, the Pioneers led 3-1 after 2.5 innings thanks to three consecutive hits which included a 2RBI homerun by Ross Krist followed by a double to left field by Jonathan Kelso and then a single by Jake Wegner to left field to run in Kelso. The Eagles flipped the script in the bottom of the 4th inning and scored seven runs which included two homeruns. Krist homered for a second time in the 5th frame, but UW-La Crosse added five more runs in the bottom of the inning to seal the fate of game three.
Ross finished the game 3-3 which included two homeruns, was walked once, tallied three RBI and two runs.
In the second game of the day, the Pioneers hopped out to an early four-run lead in the top of the 1st. With the first two batters, Krist and Kelso, walked, Wegner doubled to left field to score two runs. Wegner advanced on a wild pitch just before Wyatt Molitor singled and scored another run. Molitor then ran home for the fourth run off a sacrifice fly by Justin Cruz.
The Eagles cut the Pioneers' lead in half after three innings until UW-Platteville added three more runs off singles by Ben Espinoza and Slate Higa. Leading 7-2, an Eagle five-hit, four-run 6th inning drew UW-La Crosse in within two runs. The Eagles tallied more than just two the next frame and knocked out four hits and brought in five runs to take an 11-7 lead. The Pioneers added one in the 8th and another in the final inning.
