Pioneers swept by the Titans
OSHKOSH, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball team were swept by UW-Oshkosh, 10-0 in seven innings and 11-9, on Sunday at Tiedemann Field.

The Pioneers (10-28, 5-17) are now mathematically eliminated from getting into next weekend's WIAC tournament. The Titans (23-10, 12-8) will be the three-seed in tournament.
GAME ONE: UW-Platteville 0, UW-Oshkosh 10, 7 innings
The Titans scored three runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back. UWO used a two-run homer and a sacrifice fly to take a 3-0 lead.
UW-Oshkosh used another two-run homer to take a commanding 5-0 lead.
UWO added two more in the sixth and then three in the seventh to enact the 10-run rule.
The Pioneers were out hits 13-5 with four Titans recording multiple hit games.
UW-Platteville's junior Shane Murphy only got through 2.1 innings and allowed five hits and five runs. Freshman Shane Sosinsky threw 4.1 relief innings and allowed eight hits and five runs.
GAME TWO: UW-Platteville 9, UW-Oshkosh 11
The Pioneers put themselves in another big hole early in the nightcap. The Titans used five hits in the first inning to score four runs and then added one more run in second taking a 5-0.
UW-Platteville took advantage of two UWO miscues in the fourth inning cutting the Titans lead to 5-3.
The Pioneers tied the game up in the top of the sixth inning, 5-5. UW-Platteville used four hits to score two runs but had a chance to the lead but left the bases loaded.
The Titans responded with a big inning of their own in the bottom half of the sixth. UWO started with a pair of doubles and after two more hits a two-run homer made it a 10-5 game. Oshkosh added another run in the seventh to make it 11-5.
The Pioneers tried to mount a ninth inning comeback but could only tally four runs, 9-11.
Sophomore Mike Boushley suffered the loss as he allowed 10 hits in 5.2 innings pitched.
The Pioneers were once again out hit, 14-8 and with no Pioneer with no more than one hit. The Titans had five batters with multiple hits.
UW-Platteville will wrap up its 2013 campaign on Wednesday when they travel to fourth-ranked UW-Whitewater.
