Pioneers Run At Interregional Invite Saturday
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country teams competed at the Augustana Interregional Invite on Saturday, with the men’s team placing 14th out of 40 teams and the women taking 21st out of 36 teams from the Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois.
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country teams competed at the Augustana Interregional Invite on Saturday, with the men's team placing 14th out of 40 teams and the women taking 21st out of 36 teams from the Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois. The meet featured seven men's teams ranked inside the top 25 national rankings and five top 25 women's teams.
Men's Highlights
Junior Caden Schneider placed 42nd overall in the field of 436 runners while running a time of 25:11.8 to lead the men's team in the 8k race.
Sophomore Zachary Sporaa posted a personal-best time of 25:30.3 to place 60th overall at the meet. Junior Isaiah Kruckman was the third Pioneer to finish in the top 100, taking 99th overall behind a time of 25:46.9.
Freshman Hayden Treibold was the fourth Pioneer to score at the meet as he placed 115th with a PR time of 25:55.2. Freshman Maxwell Voss rounded out the UW-Platteville top five with a PR mark of 26:05.9. He placed 128th overall.
Women's Highlights
Senior Hannah Fliss paced the women's team behind a personal-best time of 22:31.6. She placed 49th overall in the field of 355 runners in the 6k race.
A minute later, senior Natalie Kreier was the next Pioneer to cross the finish line, taking 127th overall behind time of 23:31.3.
Sophomore Megan Hageman also ran a PR and was the third UW-Platteville runner to place at the meet. She finished with a time of 23:41.3 to take 140th overall.
Junior Avery Brown and freshman Caitlin Wirth rounded out the top five runners for the Pioneers. Brown ran a time of 23:54.9 to finish 165th, while Wirth posted a PR time of 24:17.9 in her fourth collegiate race.

The Pioneers will run at the Warhawk Open hosted by UW-Whitewater next Friday afternoon. The races are scheduled to begin at noon.
