Pioneers Post Strong Marks At Gil Dodds Invitational
WINFIELD, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country teams competed at the Gil Dodds Invitational on Saturday morning, with the men finishing first out of 18 teams at the meet and the women taking third out of 19 teams.

Men's Highlights
The Pioneers totaled 61 points, 12 ahead of second-place Carthage. Junior Caden Schneider was the team's top finisher with a time of 25:10.90. Schneider was the fourth runner overall to cross the finish line, but he was only behind three unattached runners.
Sophomore Zachary Sporaa was the next runner to finish for UW-Platteville with a time of 25:59.90 for 12th overall. Senior Korbin Eisler (26:08.60) and Isaiah Kruckman (26:13.30) followed close behind for 18th and 20th, respectively.
Sophomore Maxwell Sporaa rounded out the top five runners, placing 26th with a time of 26:23.10. Freshman Hayden Treibold was less than a second behind him at 26:23.90 for 27th overall.
Women's Highlights
The women's team finished with 114 points, trailing only DePauw (37 points) and Wheaton (Ill.) (95 points) at the meet.
Senior Hannah Fliss was the top finisher, taking sixth overall with a time of 22:46.10. Senior Natalie Kreier also finished inside the top 20 with a time of 23:38.80, which was good for 17th.
Junior Avery Brown took 27th overall behind a mark of 24:02.30, and sophomore Megan Hageman placed two spots behind at 24:14.00.
Freshman Caitlin Wirth rounded out the five scorers, placing 36th with a time of 24:25.10.

The Pioneers will take a week off before running at the Carleton Campus Course in Northfield, Minnesota on Saturday, October 5. The course is a preview of the NCAA North Regional meet, which takes place on November 16.
