Cross Country Finishes Second At Tom Hoffman Invite
WHITEWATER, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s cross country team competed at the Tom Hoffman Invite on Saturday hosted by UW-Whitewater. The Pioneers placed second out of eight teams with 70 points.
WHITEWATER, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's cross country team competed at the Tom Hoffman Invite on Saturday hosted by UW-Whitewater. The Pioneers placed second out of eight teams with 70 points.
Freshman Zachary Sporaa finished sixth overall in his first collegiate race with a time of 26:36.4. Sporaa was the first non-UW-Whitewater runner to cross the finish line at the meet.
The next four Pioneers runners finished in quick succession, led by freshman Maxwell Sporaa, who took 14th behind a time of 27:46.4. Freshman Paul Pfeifer was right behind for 15th overall at 27:49.9 while juniors Carson Kester (27:56.7) and Korbin Eisler (27:57.4) placed 17th and 18th respectively.
Junior Nolan Baumhardt was the sixth UW-Platteville finisher. His time of 28:18.2 earned him 20th overall. Freshman Phillip Dart placed 22nd with a mark of 28:33.2.
The Pioneers will host the Gender Equity Invite next weekend at the Cole Acres Golf Course in Cuba City. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
