Cross country teams earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, Klokow named to All-Academic Team
PLATTEVILLE, WIS. -The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its Scholar Teams and Scholar-Athletes for the 2019 cross country season and both the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men and women’s cross country teams earned team honors, while Zach Klokow earned a spot on the All-Academic Team.
PLATTEVILLE, WIS. -The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its Scholar Teams and Scholar-Athletes for the 2019 cross country season and both the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men and women's cross country teams earned team honors, while Zach Klokow earned a spot on the All-Academic Team.
The men's cross country team achieved a team grade point average of 3.21 while the women's team earned a 3.41 GPA. For a team to be considered for this distinction, it must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10 on a 4.00 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
Individually, Klokow secured a spot on the All-Academic Team. In order to qualify for this honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.00 scale and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet. Klokow captured 5th place of 252 runners with a time of 24:49.1 at the Midwest Regional and went on to finish 13th of 280 runners at the national meet in Louisville, Ky.
