Pioneer Cross Country Teams Take Part in Blugold Invite

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country teams traveled to the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wisconsin for the Blugold Invitational on Friday.

The Pioneer men finished 12^th in the 16-team field. To lead the men was sophomore Sam Poser, who crossed the line in sixth-place overall with a time of 25:36. The next four Pioneers were UW-Platteville freshmen.

Less than a second separated Harrison Miles and Michael Peterson, who finished 59^th (26:52) and 60^th (26:52.5), respectively. Also, Joseph Gehrmann and Matt Wubben were 86^th (27:37) and 87^th (27:37.5), respectively. Junior Kyle Klein was 95^th in a time of 27:59, followed by freshman Nick Wagner, who was 97^th in 28:06.

The UW-Platteville women sent a pair of runners including sophomore Jocelyn Orner, who finished 130^th in 24:45.06 and sophomore Lisa Kaiser, who was 206^th in a time of 26:17.27.
