Two runners earn WIAC honors

UW-Platteville swept the WIAC Athletes of the Week for the second time this season.

MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

Jason Garvens, Senior (Byron, Minn.)

Garvens finished third and was the top WIAC finisher at the Dan Huston, Pre-Nationals Invite at Wartburg College (Iowa) on Oct. 9. His time of 25:41 was eight seconds faster than his winning time of last year in spite of the fact that temperatures were in the low 80's.

WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

Alli Tank, Senior (Dodgeville)

Tank finished 18th and was the top WIAC finisher at the Dan Huston, Pre-Nationals Invite at Wartburg College (Iowa) on Oct. 9. Her time of 23:35 was also the fastest she has run on this course in her three races in spite of the fact that temperatures were in the low 80's at race time.
