Four Pioneers Named to the 2010 Division III USTFCCCA All-Academic Team
Four members of the University of
Wisconsin-Platteville men's cross country team that finished fourth
nationally was named to the 2010 Division III United States Track
and Field Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team.
Earning the honor were Bill Clift, Jason
Garvens, Nathan Petesch and Anthony Swimm as
the Pioneers finished fourth at the national meet at Wartburg
University. They also were instrumental in the second place finish
at the NCAA Midwest Regional and WIAC Championships. It is the
second honor for both Garvens and Petesch.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the
student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average
of 3.30 or greater through the most-recent semester and placed in
the top 35 at the NCAA Regional Championships.
