Volleyball has 0-3 weekend, Asche named all-tournament
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Volleyball team dropped their final three non-conference matches of the season to #25 Wash U, Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin over the weekend in the Shirk Center.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Volleyball team dropped their final three non-conference matches of the season to #25 Wash U, Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin over the weekend in the Shirk Center. Sophomore Kaite Asche was one of eight players named to the all-tournament team.
The Pioneers faced off against the #25 Bears of Wash U on Friday night and fell in four sets. The Bears took the first set and the Pioneers rebounded with a 25-21 win in set two. The Pioneers challenged again in the third set but fell 23-25 before the Bears took the fourth and final set.
Sophomore Olivia Kudronowicz tallied a double double and led the team in kills and digs with 14 and 19, respectively. Kudronowicz hit .324 on her way to the 14 kills. Asche had ten kills and let the team with four service aces.
On Saturday, the Pioneers lost in three sets to Illinois Wesleyan with Asche leading the offense with eight kills and a .250 hitting percentage. Freshman Stephanie Kalinowski led the team with 13 digs and Kudronowicz tallied 11 digs and two service aces.
In the final match of the weekend, the Pioneers lost in four sets with two of those finishing 25-23 and 25-22. Sophomore Lita Solbrig played without an error in the match and had nine kills with a .692 hitting percentage and added two blocks.
Freshman Sam Rossetti finished with 42 assists to run the offense. Kudronowicz had 14 kills, Asche had 11 kills and senior Katie Jones had ten kills and led the team with four blocks.
The Pioneers travel for their final conference match of the season against UW-River Falls on Saturday, November 2nd at 4:00 pm.
