PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Volleyball team swept Simpson on 'Yell Night' at Bo Ryan Court.
The Pioneers took care of business in front of a crowd of 917 on Tuesday night win over Simpson. UW-Platteville won in three sets 25-20, 25-19, 25-19.
In the second set, the Pioneers fell behind 14-19 before going on an 11-point run to win 25-19. Madie Sailors served for the final 10 points and the final two were aces.
The team had a hitting percentage of .245 which was their second-best performance of the season. Hailey Youngren led the way with 10 kills and zero errors (.476 hitting percentage). Lita Solbrig took advantage of every swing and had six kills and zero errors (.600 hitting percentage). Kaite Asche has continued to play efficiently as a hitting with nine kills and a .333 hitting percentage. CJ Johnson directed the offense with 34 assists.
Sailors led the defense with 14 digs while Solbrig had three blocks.
The Pioneers improve to 7-11 (0-3 WIAC) on the season.
UW-Platteville heads to St. Louis this weekend to face #2 Colorado College on Friday before taking on #11 Washington University and Austana on Saturday.
