Pioneers fall to Eagles in three close sets

UW-Platteville (13-13, 0-5 WIAC) was able to take control at times against UW-La Crosse (16-6, 5-0 WIAC) but a .058 hitting percentage limited their ability to put together points at the end of sets. Sohpomore Katie Jones led the Pioneers offense hitting .235 (7-3-17) and her seven kills were a team high along Senior Allison Jensen.
Senior Allie Carter had 21 assists and the only Pioneers ace of the match. Freshmen Madie Sailors recorded a team best 12 digs followed by Sophomore Ali Jaber and Senior Madie Dower who each had seven. Sailors also had a career high four assists.
The Pioneers have the week off and next play Saturday, October 21st at home. They will matchup with Finlandia University who they are 2-0 against this season. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. inside Williams Fieldhouse.
