Pioneers go 2-2 at NWU Tournament
The UW-Platteville volleyball team ran its season-opening win streak to seven before suffering a pair of losses to conclude the Nebraska Wesleyan tournament.

The UW-Platteville volleyball team ran its season-opening win streak to seven before suffering a pair of losses to conclude the Nebraska Wesleyan tournament.
The Pioneers beat Westminster (Mo.) 25-22, 17-25, 25-23, 25-16 Friday afternoon, then knocked off the hosts 25-15, 14-25, 25-21, 25-22.
On Saturday, Willamette edged the Pioneers 3-2, taking the final set by a 15-10 score. Buena Vista then topped UW-Platteville 3-1 in the final match.
Maddie Dower (15) and Allison Jensen (13) combined for 28 kills in the Westminster victory, with Grace Austin sparking the defense with 30 digs. Katie Jones had three solo blocks and four assisted blocks. Jensen and Ashlee Moore each had double figures in kills against NWU with 12 and 10, respectively, while Allie Carter had 40 assists.
In the Willamette setback, Jensen, Moore and Dowser totaled 43 kills, with Carter recording 47 assists. Jones had six more blocks, five of them assisted.
The 7-2 Pioneers are back in action Tuesday at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
