PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneer volleyball concluded their season over the weekend. The women first drop a set to UW-La Crosse on Friday, 3-0, and then on Saturday took a tough loss to the Bluegolds of UW-Eau Claire, 3-0.
The Pioneers bid-adieu to four seniors including Lauren Grady, Rachel Ambroch, Katie O'Malley and Kelley Lynch. Lynch led all Pioneers on the season with 252 kills off of 1,002 attempts, while O'Malley was second on the team in assist with 288. Ambroch was second on the team in kills with 246 while Grady was a close third with 232.
Unfortunately, the women lost all seven of their Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games and did not qualify for the NCAA Division III playoffs.
In the month of September the Pioneers garnered a respectable .500 record of 9-9, but in October the women went 2-9 in their final 11 games.
Head coach Deb Schulman will return next year in her 23rd season as the Pioneer's coach with 11 of her 15 women from the 2015 season.
