Pioneer volleyball yields tough battle in weekend WIAC play
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team went 0-2 over the weekend in two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match-ups against UW-River Falls and UW-Stout, falling to 10-13 for the season and 0-4 in the WIAC.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team went 0-2 over the weekend in two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match-ups against UW-River Falls and UW-Stout, falling to 10-13 for the season and 0-4 in the WIAC.
In the Friday night battle against UW-River Falls, the Pioneers fell 16-25, 28-26, 16-25 and 22-25. Junior Rachel Ambroch and senior Kelley Lynch recorded 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Ambroch also logged 16 digs for the night, while junior Lindsey Decker added 17 to her 374 dig total for the season.
On Saturday afternoon against UW-Stout, the Pioneers battled back and forth with the Blue Devils, taking the first game 25-22 and losing the second 21-25 before bouncing back for game three 25-21. In the fourth and fifth sets, the Pioneers couldn't hold on, and fell 21-25 and 10-15 to the Blue Devils.
The Pioneers return to action on Friday, Oct. 16 at the UW-Eau Claire Tournament against Buena Vista at 5 p.m.
