Pioneer volleyball goes 1-2 at Wartburg tournament
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team went 1-2 at the Wartburg College tournament in Waverly, Iowa on Friday and Saturday, beating St. Olaf 3-0 and falling to both Buena Vista University 3-2 and host Wartburg 3-1.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team went 1-2 at the Wartburg College tournament in Waverly, Iowa on Friday and Saturday, beating St. Olaf 3-0 and falling to both Buena Vista University 3-2 and host Wartburg 3-1.
Junior middle hitter Lidia Frias played well over the weekend for the Pioneers, taking a spot on the all-tournament team after logging 34 kills throughout the tournament.
Junior libero Lindsey Decker recorded 16 digs in the loss to Buena Vista on Friday, with the Pioneers noting 11 total blocks in the match.
On Saturday, senior middle hitter Lauren Grady logged 10 kills in the win against St. Olaf, while junior outside hitter Rachel Ambroch recorded 14 kills in the loss to Wartburg, taking the Pioneers to an overall season record of 7-6.
So far this season, the Pioneers have 586 kills to their opponent's 558 and 87 total blocks to their opponent's 81.
The Pioneers return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 23 against #5 ranked UW-Stevens Point at Williams Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.
