Frias leads Volleyball to sweep Edgewood
UW-Platteville volleyball team swept Edgewood College, 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-17) on Wednesday at the Edgedome.

MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team swept Edgewood College, 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-17) on Wednesday at the Edgedome.
Sophomore Lidia Frias was absolutely dominant, recording a game-high 11 kills and five blocks, while posting a stellar .556 hitting percentage. Freshman Allison Jensen tallied 10 kills of her own, while junior Lauren Grady recorded six kills on eight attempts. Senior LeeAnn Mizgalski led the defense with 12 digs and added five kills.
In the first set, Frias scored four of the Pioneers' first 11 points, as UW-Platteville took a commanding 11-4 lead. The Pioneers never allowed the Eagles to make a run and took the set 25-16.
Four early errors by EC helped give the Pioneers a 9-5 lead in the second set. A kill by Mizgalski gave UW-Platteville a 16-10 lead and then an ace by Mizgalski pushed the Pioneers lead to 19-11. UW-Platteville cruised to take a two set lead, 25-17.
The Pioneers never trailed in the third set, sealing the sweep 25-17.
UW-Platteville won't return to action until Tuesday, Sept. 16, when the Pioneers travel to St. Ambrose.
