Volleyball finishes weekend on high note
UW-Platteville volleyball team finished its weekend on a high note, sweeping Lakeland, 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-16) and St. Catherine 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 27-25) on the last day of the Loras Invite on Saturday.

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team finished its weekend on a high note, sweeping Lakeland, 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-16) and St. Catherine 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 27-25) on the last day of the Loras Invite on Saturday.
The Pioneers controlled the net in their win over Lakeland, out blocking the Muskies 10-3 and took a 38-30 kill advantage. Freshman Allison Jensen led the Pioneers with a game-high 10 kills, and with only one error on 33 total attacks, while classmate Merritt Johnson tallied seven kills. Sophomore Lindsey Decker recorded a team-best 16 digs.
The Pioneers victory over St. Catherine was a tough fought one. Johnson led the team with game-high 13 kills, followed by Lidia Frias with 10 kills. Junior Lauren Grady posted a game-high .583 hitting percentage with her eight kills on 12 attempts and one error. Decker and senior Andrea Larsen each tallied a team-best 11 digs.
The Pioneers travel to Edgewood on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
