Pioneers clinch third in the WIAC
UW-Platteville clinched third place in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and its best league mark since 1992 with a 3-1 win at UW-Stevens Point Wednesday.
With the 25-23,20-25,25-21,25-17 victory, the Pioneers finished 6-2 in the WIAC, their best performance since going 8-0 in 18 years ago.
The 22nd-ranked Pioneers, now 25-3 overall, will play host to sixth-seeded UW-La Crosse Tuesday at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the league Final Four Nov. 5-6 at UW-Eau Claire.
Melanie Bailiff led four players in double figures with 13 kills, while Ali Sikic had 49 assists and Leslie White 22 digs.
