Pioneers Rally to Defeat Titans in Regular Season Finale
OSHKOSH, Wis. – Down 1-0 at the half, a pair of second-half goals secured a 2-1 triumph for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team on Saturday afternoon at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. With the win, the Pioneers (13-2-4, 4-0-3 WIAC) lock down the #2 seed, going into the WIAC Championship while also breaking the program record for most wins in a season with 13.

OSHKOSH, Wis. – Down 1-0 at the half, a pair of second-half goals secured a 2-1 triumph for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. With the win, the Pioneers (13-2-4, 4-0-3 WIAC) lock down the #2 seed, going into the WIAC Championship while also breaking the program record for most wins in a season with 13.
The Titans (3-13-2, 2-5-0 WIAC) struck early with a goal by Ryley Meenk in the 17th minute. The Pioneers would go on to outshoot UW-Oshkosh 13-4 in the half, but none of the shots evened the scored.
After the half, a tying goal at the 55:33 mark tied the game as senior Alyssa Peterson scored with an assist by fellow senior Arianna Lombardi.
It looked as if the game would end in a draw, but Lombardi registered her 11th goal of the season and go-ahead goal in the 87th minute following a Titan yellow card.
Peterson had a game-high four shots while Lombardi and sophomore Jess Morawski each registered three.
Sophomore Madison Way picked up the win in goal and tallied four saves across 90 minutes.
Overall, the Pioneers outshot the Titans 23-4 while UW-Oshkosh held the edge in fouls with 18-9, including 5-1 yellow cards.
The Pioneers will receive a bye in the first round of the conference tournament and are second, behind #1 seed UW-La Crosse. The Pioneers will host the highest remaining seed on Thursday, November 7 at 7 p.m.
