Pioneers Rally Late To Draw With Carroll
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team (7-0-1) battled back from an early two-goal deficit to tie 2-2 with Carroll (Wis.) (1-3-2) on Wednesday night from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team (7-0-1) battled back from an early two-goal deficit to tie 2-2 with Carroll (Wis.) (1-3-2) on Wednesday night from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
Carroll scored twice in the first six minutes of the contest, with one coming via a penalty kick in the sixth minute. The score remained 2-0 for the remainder of the first half, with UW-Platteville attempting just four total shots.
UW-Platteville came out stronger in the second half and cut the Carroll lead in half in the 56th minute on senior Arianna Lombardi's sixth goal of the season. Junior Izzy Streeter picked up the assist on the goal.
UW-Platteville's offense put pressure on Carroll and in the 89th minute, sophomore Alyssa Jarock tied the game with her first career goal. Sophomore Jess Morawski earned the assist after her pass to the front of the net allowed Jarock to get a good look on goal.
The match was nearly even in shots, with UW-Platteville holding a 17-15 advantage. Carroll got more looks on goal, 8-3, but sophomore goalkeeper Madison Way made six saves, each coming after the initial two goals, to help earn the draw.
UW-Platteville hits the road for the first time in two weeks on Saturday when it takes on Wartburg at 1 p.m.
