Early goal propels Pioneers to win at Luther

DECORAH, Iowa – After jumping out to an early lead, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team road a one point advantage to victory over Luther College on Tuesday night.
The Pioneers (2-0-0) struck early on, with sophomore Jess Morawski finding the net in the sixth minute after an assist from senior Alyssa Peterson. Although it would be the only goal of the game, Luther (0-3-0) was able to put four shots on goal in in the first half alone.
The Pioneers tallied eight shots in the first half and another eight in the second to pace the Norse 16-12.
Sophomore Madison Way (2-0-0) recorded five saves in her second shutout of the season.
The Pioneers will hit the road on Friday, Sept. 6 when they travel north to St. Scholastica for a 3 p.m. game.
