Pioneers Conclude Regular Season With Draw
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team (9-2-5, 4-1-2 WIAC) wrapped up the regular season with a 1-1 draw against UW-Oshkosh (5-9-4, 3-3-1 WIAC) on Saturday night from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team (9-2-5, 4-1-2 WIAC) wrapped up the regular season with a 1-1 draw against UW-Oshkosh (5-9-4, 3-3-1 WIAC) on Saturday night from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, freshman Meghan Frantz scored the first goal of her Pioneers career in the 73rd minute to put the home team ahead. Frantz received a long pass from junior Alyssa Peterson and fired a shot that beat the keeper to the right side.
The Titans answered in the 80th minute to even the score at one. Neither team could break through again in the final 10 minutes and the game ended at one apiece.
UW-Platteville outshot UW-Oshkosh 13-9 in the match, including 9-3 in shots on goal. Freshman Sophie Carlos paced the team with four shots, while junior Lydia Smith finished with three shots.
The Pioneers will host the WIAC Semifinals on Thursday, November 2 at 6 p.m. against the highest remaining seed in the tournament. The first round takes place on Tuesday with matchups including third-seeded UW-Eau Claire taking on sixth-seeded UW-Whitewater and fourth-seeded UW-Oshkosh facing fifth-seeded UW-Stevens Point.
