PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team (1-0-1) battled to a 0-0 draw against Concordia Moorhead (0-1-1) in the 2023 home opener Sunday morning.
The Pioneers controlled possession for much of the match but were unable to make the most of their scoring opportunities. UW-Platteville finished with a shot advantage of 12-4 over Concordia Moorhead in the game, including a mark of 5-0 throughout the first half. The tempo increased in the second half, with a combined six shots on frame, but neither side was able to break through.
Freshman Madison Way made a pair of saves for her second shutout of the season.
Junior Arianna Lombardi recorded a team-high five shots for the Pioneers, with three finishing on goal. Juniors Lydia Smith and Alyssa Peterson added two shots of their own.
The Pioneers welcome Edgewood to Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium on Wednesday evening. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
