Pioneers Shutout By Eagles Wednesday Night
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team (12-5-1, 3-3-0 WIAC) fell 2-0 to the visiting UW-La Crosse Eagles (16-1-1, 6-0-0 WIAC) on Wednesday night inside Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team (12-5-1, 3-3-0 WIAC) fell 2-0 to the visiting UW-La Crosse Eagles (16-1-1, 6-0-0 WIAC) on Wednesday night inside Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
UW-La Crosse had several scoring chances early in the game, but the Pioneers senior goalkeeper Emma Ball made four saves in the first 35 minutes to keep the game scoreless. The Eagles broke through in the 37th minute and added a second goal in the 40th minute on a shot that tucked into the upper left corner. UW-Platteville was more aggressive in the second half, attempting nine shots compared to two for UW-La Crosse, but the Eagles defense held strong for the shutout.
The Pioneers finished with 11 shots and four on target compared to 13 shots and eight on goal for the Eagles. Sophomore Lauren Lodico paced the team with four shots, including three on goal. Ball finished with six saves on eight shots faced.
UW-Platteville wraps up the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 29 on the road for a 4 p.m. match against WIAC foe UW-Eau Claire (11-5-1, 4-2-0 WIAC).
