Pioneers shutout Finlandia on Senior Day
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team celebrated Senior Day on Sunday afternoon in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium with a 5-0 win over Finlandia. The Pioneers (12-4-1, 3-2) also celebrated reaching 12 victories after the win against the Lions (6-7-2), a first for the program since the 2006 season.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day on Sunday afternoon in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium with a 5-0 win over Finlandia. The Pioneers (12-4-1, 3-2) also celebrated reaching 12 victories after the win against the Lions (6-7-2), a first for the program since the 2006 season.
UW-Platteville dominated the game and held a 42-2 advantage in shots. The Pioneers placed 19 on target.
Senior Danielle Culotta and freshmen Maddi Spencer-Strong and Julia Howdeshell each scored goals while sophomore Lauren Lodico scored a pair of goals within a a three-minute window early in the first half.
Lodico led the Pioneers with four shots on goal off five total shots.
UW-Platteville will return to action and Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium on Wednesday, October 28 when they host the 15-1-1 UW-La Crosse Eagles at 7 p.m.
