Pioneers top Beloit on the road
BELOIT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team picked up another road win over Beloit College in the rain on Wednesday. The 2-1 triumph on a muddy Strong Soccer Field left the Pioneers remaining unbeaten against non-conference competition.

BELOIT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team picked up another road win over Beloit College in the rain on Wednesday. The 2-1 triumph on a muddy Strong Soccer Field left the Pioneers remaining unbeaten against non-conference competition.
The Pioneers (7-2-3, WIAC 0-2-1) broke away with an early lead when senior Amber Lueder struck in the 6th minute with an assist by freshman Danielle Culotta.
The 1-0 advantage held through the half and freshman Bryanne Pinkowski doubled the Pioneers' lead in the 50th minute off a free kick. The Bucs (4-4-4, NACC 1-1-2) narrowed the lead in the 73rd minute, but UW-Platteville held on until time expired.
The Pioneers maintained a 15-13 advantage on shots with seven on goal for UW-Platteville and five for the Bucs. Beloit also registered 14 fouls to the Pioneers' eight.
Emma Ball tallied four saves in the 90 minutes while Audrey Ketterer and Maya Betzler split halves in goal for the Bucs totaling five saves.
The Pioneers will return to WIAC play and Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 16 when they host UW-Oshkosh at 6 p.m.
