PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 battle against the Central College Dutch Saturday night in Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers (0-3-0) had opportunity and shot eight on goal out of the night's nine attempts, but the Dutch (3-0-1) managed to find the net once and that would be enough for the win.
The Pioneers best opportunity came at the close of the game when Leah Kubasta, who had a team high three shots with all on goal, fired off two shots in the final minute of play.
Kathryn Flaherty recorded nine saves while her counterpart, Taylor Golt of Central recorded eight on night.
Overall, the Dutch held a 20-9 advantage on shots and an 11-1 advantage on corner kicks.
The Pioneers return to action on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m. in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium when they host Simpson College.
