Pioneers fall in second straight double overtime
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Platteville women’s soccer team fell 2-1 in double overtime on Wednesday night to Coe College at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Platteville women's soccer team fell 2-1 in double overtime on Wednesday night to Coe College at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer stadium.
The defensive night remained scoreless for majority of the competition until a Coe penalty kick in the 70th minute put the Kohawks ahead 1-0. Ashley Peck then wound up and drilled one into the net from over 25 yards out in the 81st minute to send the game into overtime. The night would conclude early in the second overtime when Coe's Sydney Schroder scored off a pass from Ashlyn Moos.
The night in all totaled just six shots with Coe holding the 4-2 advantage and all but one Coe shot being on goal.
Pioneer goalkeeper Kathryn Flaherty and Coe's Alex Montalbano recorded one save a piece in the night's match up.
With the second game in a row falling in double overtime, UW-Platteville now moves to 5-4 overall. The Pioneers open WIAC play this Saturday, Sept. 29 when they travel to UW-River Falls to take on the Falcons at 4 p.m.
