Pioneers down the Inferno of Alverno
PLATTEVILLE, WIS. - UW-Platteville improved to 3-1 overall this season with the 6-0 victory over Alverno College on Wednesday night in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, WIS. - UW-Platteville improved to 3-1 overall this season with the 6-0 victory over Alverno College on Wednesday night in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers totaled 37 shots with 21 on goal while the visiting Inferno finished the evening with a blank slate.
UW-Platteville split the night's goals with three each in both the first and second halves. Freshman Caelyn Steffens led the Pioneers with two goals, both in the first half, and brought her season goals total to five. Sophomore Taylor Gamble is credited with the assists on both Steffens' goals. Rounding out the first half goals was sophomore Amber Lueder and Steffens with an assist at the 8:44 mark.
The second half then began with another Pioneer goal by junior Taylor Martin off of freshman Kylee Colwell, bringing the Pioneers' lead to 4-0. Sophomore Ashley Peck then found the net with Steffens on the assist before Hailee Sanford drilled one more in for a 6-0 lead that would remain until time expired.
The Pioneers return to action and will hit the road this weekend to travel to Buena Vista University on Saturday, Sept. 15 with game time set for 2 p.m.
