PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers defeated Cornell College 5-1 on Wednesday ,Oct. 11 at Mount Vernon, Iowa.
UW-Platteville scored four goals in the opening half. They were shot by Amber Lueder and Alex Carlson; both shots were assisted by Kirsten Semenchuk. Unassisted goals for the Pioneers were made by Anna Sobal and Carly Ridderbusch. Cornell snuck one goal in during the first half as well.
Second half was a little less eventful, as the Pioneers' Anna Sobal scored one unassisted goal bringing the final score to 5-1.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday Oct. 14 at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium at 7 p.m. against UW-Stevens Point.
