Pioneers Fall Short Against La Crosse
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers (5-6) were defeated by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (8-1-2) by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers (5-6) were defeated by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (8-1-2) by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
After giving up an early goal in the 7th minute the Pioneers held their own until UW-La Crosse found the back of the net again in the 32nd minute. The Eagles scored three more goals throughout the second half to push their lead to 5-0. Anna Sobal scored her WIAC leading ninth goal on a penalty kick in the 78th minute, marking just the sixth goal given up all season by a tough UW-La Crosse team.
The Pioneers next travel to UW-Oshkosh this Saturday for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Titans.
