Pioneers Fall to UW-Whitewater at home
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team lost 2-0 to the nationally ranked UW-Whitewater Warhawks at home Wednesday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium. The loss moves the Pioneers to 6-9 on the season, and 1-4 in the WIAC conference.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team lost 2-0 to the nationally ranked UW-Whitewater Warhawks at home Wednesday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium. The loss moves the Pioneers to 6-9 on the season, and 1-4 in the WIAC conference.
The Warhawks got off to a quick start on a header goal by Peyton DeLuga at the 6:59 mark in the first half. DeLuga was able to get on the board again later in the first half on another header goal with under 15 minutes left to go in the half. The teams play even the rest of the game, and at the final whistle the score was 2-0. The Pioneers were outshot 11-5 in the game, and were outshot 8-1 on shots on goal. The victory moves the sixth-ranked Warhawks to 16-1 on the year,
The Pioneers will return to action Saturday Oct. 22 on the road against UW-Stout. Their next home game will be against Edgewood Wednesday, Oct. 26. UW-Stout is 5-8-1 on the season, and is 2-2 in the WIAC.
