Divita's goal gives Pioneers road victory
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team defeated the Buena Vista University Beavers 1-0 Tuesday in Storm Lake, Iowa. The victory moves the Pioneers to 5-8 on the season.

STORM LAKE, Iowa — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team defeated the Buena Vista University Beavers 1-0 Tuesday in Storm Lake, Iowa. The victory moves the Pioneers to 5-8 on the season.
After playing an even first half in which neither team was able to score, the Pioneers were able to strike, and take the lead on their first goal in three games on a Julia Divita goal. The goal came under 4 minutes into the second half, and was assisted by Yamilex Jaramillo. The Pioneers were able to hold onto this 1-0 lead, and goalie Alyssa Sickler was able to save all three shots the Beavers took in the game. The loss drops Buena Vista to 3-9-1 on the season.
The Pioneers will hit the field next on against UW-Stevens Point in the road Saturday Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. Their next home game is Wednesday Oct. 19 against UW-Whitewater at 7 p,m.
